Once caked-on grease builds on nonstick pans, it can alter the taste of food you prepare. The grease can also ruin the pans if you do not take the time to clean them properly. Instead of using expensive products, make your own grease-cleaning solution at home with items in your pantry. After you loosen the caked-on grease, you will be able to scrub the pan to clean it thoroughly.
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 2 tbsp. baking soda
- Nylon scrub brush or plastic scraper
Fill the nonstick pan with 1/2 cup white vinegar. Add 2 tbsp. baking soda and 1 cup warm water. Mix the ingredients with your fingers until the baking soda dissolves.
Place the pan on the stove top over medium-high heat. Allow the solution to boil for 10 minutes.
Pour the solution into the sink drain. Wash the pan with hot and soapy water. Use a nylon scrub pad to loosen and remove the grease. You can also loosen the grease with a plastic scraper.
Repeat the process if you have difficulty removing the caked-on grease. Rinse and dry the pan after you successfully remove the grease.
