When you are using paint to create a picture or to paint an object, your painting can look choppy and amateurish if you do not know how to properly blend different colors of paint together. By learning certain painting techniques, you can make two different colors of paint appear as if they blend smoothly from one color to the other. Once you perfect this technique, you can transfer it to any arts or crafts project.
Things You'll Need
- Acrylic paint
Paint the first color of acrylic paint you want to use onto the object using a paintbrush.
Paint the second color of acrylic paint you want to use on the object directly next to the first color. Do not overlap the colors, and use a separate paintbrush.
Tap the area where the two colors meet using a dry paintbrush to blend the demarcation line.
Tap the dry brush slowly, working from the demarcation line toward the first color to blend the middle out.
Tap the dry brush slowly, working from the demarcation line toward the second color to complete the blend of the two colors.
