How to Make a Crochet Hook Case

Store all of your crochet hooks in a handmade case, as opposed to a ball of yarn.

People who crochet know how difficult it is to keep up with the variety of different size hooks used. Keeping them organized in one case will make finding the crochet hook you need an easy task. This easy-to-store roll up case, is a way to show off your work while keeping your crochet hooks organized.

Things You'll Need

• Worsted weight Yarn
• Size I crochet hook
• Yarn needle

Instructions

Back

1. Chain 25 with a size I crochet hook.

2. Crochet row 1. Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. For a total of 24 sc. Ch 1 turn.

3. Crochet row 2. Sc and two dc in first sc, skip two sc. Sc and two dc in next, (skip two, sc and two dc) in next continue with ( ) across to last stitch. Sc in last stitch, ch one, turn. (8 pattern groups of 1sc/2dc).

4. Crochet row 3. Sc and 2dc in first sc. (Skip two stitches, in sc from previous row, sc and 2 dc), continue ( ) across to last stitch. Sc in last stitch, ch one and turn.

5. Crochet rows 4 - 12. Repeat row 3.

6. Crochet row 13. Sc in each st. across (25 sc) finish off.

Front

1. Crochet row 1. Sc in second chain from hook and each chain across. For a total of 24 sc. Ch 1 turn.

2. Crochet row 2. Sc and two dc in first sc, skip two sc. Sc and two dc in next, (skip two, sc and two dc) in next continue with ( ) across to last stitch. Sc in last stitch, chain one, turn. ( 8 groups of 1sc/2dc).

3. Crochet row 3. Sc and 2dc in first sc. (Skip two stitches, in sc from previous row, sc and 2 dc), continue ( ) across to last stitch. Sc in last stitch, chain one and turn.

4. Crochet rows 4-8. Repeat row 3. Finish off.

Joining Front to Back

1. Sew front to back with a yarn needle and yarn.

2. Start on the right side and, going through both thicknesses, sew down the side, across the bottom and up the left side. Finish off.

3. Join the yarn in any st. ch. 1 sc in each st around all four sides. Join to the first sc. Finish off.

Dividers

1. Sew through both thicknesses to bottom, just above the edging to create the dividers. Use a yarn needle and working from the top to bottom, insert needle between the first pattern group and the edge.

2. Slip stitch across the bottom to the space between the next pattern group. Sewing through both thicknesses, sew up to the edge of the front piece.

3. Slip stitch to the next pattern group. Sewing through both thicknesses to the bottom just above the edging. Slip stitch across the bottom, above the edging to the next pattern group.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for desired amount of dividers.

Ties

1. Chain 20 with yarn and the crochet hook.

2. Crochet row 1. Sc in second ch. from hook and each ch. across. Finish off.

3. Fold strip in half. With yarn needle sew the folded edge of the strip to the middle of the right edge on the case.

4. To close, starting on left side, roll case to ties. Tie with strap.

• Single crochet = sc

• Double crochet = dc

• Chain = ch

• Slip stitch = sl st

• Pattern group= (1 sc and 2 dc)

• For larger dividers for items such as small pair of scissors, skip 2 or more patterns groups.
