The Bissell 9400-series Proheat 2X is specially designed to clean carpeting in pet households. The deep-cleaning action of this cleaning system collects pet hair, lifts stains, removes pet dander and also deodorizes your carpeting, making it seem as though there are no pets even in the home. By properly using the cleaning unit, and also adding an extra cleaning element, you can quickly and effectively get the most use out of your Bissell Proheat 2X.
Things You'll Need
- Carpet shampoo or laundry detergent
Pull the release lever at the base of the Bissell system to release the fluid compartment. Open the flap and fill with warm tap water. Place the base back onto the unit and a snap will confirm that it is locked back into place.
Pour a carpet shampoo into the cleaner compartment located about mid-way down the base of the cleaner. Open the lid and pour in either the shampoo or substitute with a mild laundry detergent which also cleans the carpeting well.
Plug in and turn on the power switch near the top of the handle.
Let the Bissell 9400 heat up for a few seconds and pull the steam trigger. When you see steam shooting out from the bottom of the unit, begin pushing it over your carpeting. Push the steam trigger every 10 seconds or so to keep a sufficient amount of steam coming out of the unit, and continue until the entire carpet is clean.
