      Print out a flower template if you are choosing to use one, then cut it out as trace as many flowers as desired. Nine to 18 layers are recommended. If you choose to free-hand draw your flowers, you may cut any shape that you find appealing. Figure-eights in various sizes will turn out nicely.

      Stack the layers on top of one another, staggering them so they are not perfectly aligned.

      Sew the layers together by stitching an "X" directly through the middle of the stack.

      Fold the stack in half at the "X," and stitch through the stack. Fold it in half once more, and sew another stitch through.

      Tie off the thread, and open the fabric up, allowing your flower to blossom.
