How to Find a Craft Money Tree

Set up a money tree at an engagement or graduation party.

If you are looking for a money tree to use at your next bridal shower, engagement party or wedding, you may need to do a little searching to find the tree that has the right look and is the right price. Start your search early, if possible, to help ensure that you do not have to settle for a tree at the last minute. Also, keep in mind that you may need to dress up a tree that you find to fit your needs.

Instructions

1. Visit the website of a craft store, such as Michaels, or a landscaping store that sells artificial trees, such as Lowe's. You are looking for a faux tree that you can turn into a money tree.

2. Visit your local craft store to take stock of the faux trees that are available. Many kinds of potted trees can work as your money tree. Keep in mind that trees with bare branches may look more aesthetically appealing because when the tree is covered in money, leaves will not get in the way.

3. Go to yard sales and thrift shops in search of potted trees. Even if you cannot find the perfect tree, you can buy one and tweak it to your needs. For example, for a Christmas engagement party, set up a faux Christmas tree that you find at a yard sale. Give guests miniature stockings with ornaments on them. Guests can fill the stockings with their cash gift and hang the stocking on the "money tree."
