How to Seal Face Paint
With the popularity of face painting, particularly among children and Halloween revelers, finding ways to keep the paint from rubbing off on clothing is important. Fortunately, you can avoid getting messy and sticky by using a paint setter, sealant or translucent powder to keep your face paint where it belongs: on your face.

1
Buy a translucent powder. You can buy a specialty powder, but any sort of face powder (including women's makeup) will work just as well. Apply it generously with a large brush and blow off the remaining powder.

Use a sealer made specifically for face paint. You can find these products in the same stores that sell costume makeup, usually for less than $10. These liquids will set up and harden to a plastic-like finish, temporarily protecting the paint until bath time. You can apply it by patting it on with your fingertips.

Mix a liquid additive like LiquiSet to your paint before beginning the face painting process. This additive will make the paint waterproof once it has dried on your face.
