Homemade Cupcake Holder Display
Cupcakes are an excellent alternative to a traditional cake for a party. However, cupcakes can lack the elegant display of a traditional tiered cake. Consider making your own cake stand to display cupcakes for your next party. It's an inexpensive option that may end up looking even more beautiful than store-bought versions. Things You'll Need
- 2 cake dummies (2 x 8 inches, 2 x 9 inches)
- 3 cake boards (1 x 8, 1 x 10, 1 x 12)
- 1-inch satin ribbon
- Pencil
- Thick wrapping paper
- Glue stick
- Pins
- Craft glue
- Craft knife

Attach the satin ribbon to the cake dummies using the glue stick. You can also use pins at the ends to hold the ribbon in place. Wrap the ribbon around the cake dummy carefully until the sides are entirely covered in ribbon. When done properly, the ribbon should slightly overlap itself.

Outline the three cake boards onto the blank side of the wrapping paper. Cut out the resulting circle with the craft knife. You may want to lay the wrapping paper onto a magazine to prevent damaging the table.

Affix the wrapping paper to their corresponding cake boards with the glue stick.

Wrap the sides of the cake boards in satin ribbon. Hold in place with a small pin.

Place the cake boards and cake dummies in alternating order from largest to smallest. For example, place the 1 x 12 cake board on the table. Place the 2 x 9 cake dummy in the center of cake board. Place the 1 x 10 cake board on top of the dummy, etc. Attach the cakes board and dummies to each other using craft glue. Allow your cup cake stand to dry completely before adding cup cakes.
