How to Remove Suntan Oil From Clothes

Cornstarch will remove some of the grease from suntan oil stains.

You might use suntan oil to accelerate the tanning process. However, if you put on clothing before completely washing the oil off, you probably will find greasy stains on your clothes. Luckily, you don't have to toss away clothing that becomes stained with suntan oil. While these stains usually won't come out with soap and water alone, there are simple methods that you can use to remove stains from suntan oil.

Things You'll Need

• Paper towels
• Cornstarch
• Toothbrush
• Prewash stain remover
• Laundry detergent

Instructions

1. Fold a paper towel and blot the stain until no more oil is transferring to the paper towel.

2. Sprinkle cornstarch on the affected area and let it sit for about five minutes.

3. Brush off the cornstarch with a clean toothbrush.

4. Treat the stain with a prewash stain-removing product.

5. Wash the clothing as you normally would, according to the garment's directions.
