If you're planning on dressing up as a pirate, you'll need a makeup look to complement your peg leg and eye patch. For women, the key to creating the pirate look is a dark, smoldering eye. Things You'll Need

  • Foundation
  • Makeup brushes (foundation, contour, eyeshadow)
  • Bronzing powder
  • Eyeshadow primer
  • Gray eyeshadow
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Black mascara
  • Red lip liner
  • Red lipstick

Instructions

    • 1

      Apply foundation to clean, moisturized skin using the foundation brush. Smooth the product into your hairline and jaw to avoid any harsh makeup delineation lines.

      Swirl a contour brush into your bronzing powder. Dab the product in a line from your temples to just below your cheekbones. You want to emphasize the hollows of your cheeks to give a weathered, gaunt look. Blend the edges of the powder line into your foundation using small, circular motions.

      Smooth eyeshadow primer over your eyelid from the lash line up to the brow bone.

      Pat gray eyeshadow onto your eyelid. Stop when your reach the crease.

      Press black eyeshadow into the crease of your eyelid then bring the color outwards. Define the outer corner of your eye with black shadow by creating a horizontal "V" shape beginning at the crease and ending at the edge of the lash line.

      Use your eyeshadow brush to blend the black shadow into the gray using a windshield-wiper motion.

      Apply two coats of black mascara to finish the eye look.

      Line your lips using red lip liner. Follow the natural lip line then color in the center of your lips with the liner. This will prolong the wear time and prevent your lip color from feathering.

      Apply red lipstick over the liner. Press lips together and reapply as needed throughout the night.
