Instructions

    • 1

Lay a pre-cut section of lace out on a flat surface. The section of lace should be slightly larger than your sewing pattern.

    • 2

Flatten your sewing pattern, taking care to remove any creases. Line the sewing pattern up on top of any decorative pattern on the lace, as you see fit. If the lace has a uniform decoration, there is no need to worry about matching the sewing pattern to the decorative lace pattern. Simply place the sewing pattern on top of the lace in any spot.

    • 3

Secure the pattern in place with flower head pins. This type of pin is ideal because it won't get lost in the fabric. Place pins ¼-inch apart along each edge, and one pin per square inch in the middle of your sewing pattern.

    • 4

Line your scissors up with the edge of your sewing pattern and cut through the lace. Your pattern and lace should be tightly secured so you may cut the lace with precision.
