Homemade Tinted Window Glass Cleaner

Mel Frank

Window tint is often used on vehicle windows, as it is both functional and practical. The tint not only adds a touch of elegance to the vehicle, but also provides privacy, preventing outsiders from seeing inside of the vehicle. The tint is typically made of a Mylar plastic, which will be destroyed on contact when harsh chemicals and ammonia-based cleaning products come into contact with the tint. This makes it important to clean the window tint only with safe cleaning elements.

Cleaning window tinted glass is easy.

Step 1

Pour 1 tbsp. of mild liquid dish soap into the spray bottle. The soap will safely clean the tint and will dry streak-free.

Step 2

Pour 2 cups of warm water into the spray bottle. Shake gently. The warm water will assist in dissolving the dish soap.

Step 3

Spray a light mist of the cleaner onto a soft cleaning cloth.

Step 4

Wipe the cloth over the tinted window glass, using large, round, wiping motions.

Step 5

Continue wiping the windows until you have cleaned them to your satisfaction.
