How to Remove Odors Naturally
Strong odors appear anywhere from your home to your clothes and even your car. The presence of such odors often means bacteria and grime as well. To eliminate the odor and any harmful bacteria permanently, you must thoroughly cleanse the area. While most retail outlets offer an endless supply of air fresheners in spray, bar or plug-in format, these items rarely remove the scent but rather cover it up temporarily. Things You'll Need
- Vinegar
- Shower rod or rope
- Baking soda
- Towel or cloth
- Tea tree herb
- Wheat grass
- Soap
- Lemon juice or lemon essential oil
- Essential oils

Smoke and Cigarette Odor

Fill your bathtub with 1 inch of water. You do not need an excess of water, only a small amount will do. Use only hot water by turning the knob as far as it will go to get maximum heat.

Add 4 cups of vinegar to the water using a measuring cup. Keep the container closed and be careful when using the vinegar as the acidic content can cause infection or illness if ingested.

Hang your smoke and cigarette odored material over the tub. Use the shower rod to hang clothes or temporary tie a line of rope across the length of the bathtub and use clothespins to hang the materials. Do not allow the fabric to touch the water.

Steam the clothes for at least 30 minutes. Shut the bathroom door tightly to keep the steam in the room. Steaming with vinegar water helps remove the pesky odor from cigarette smoke.
Body Odor

Apply baking soda directly to the affected area. Baking soda works well as a deodorant for underarms and feet. Use a generous amount.

Boil tea tree herb to rid genital odors. Also known as the antibacterial herb, use boiled tea tree as wash for your sensitive genital area.

Consume wheat grass every morning before breakfast. It's recommended you take 500 mg on an empty stomach. Wheat grass contains chlorophyll which helps decrease the presence of body odor.

Take a bath or shower regularly. If you have persistent body odor, try showering at least twice a day using a mild cleanser. Always shower after a vigorous workout. You must also thoroughly rinse the soap or cleansers to avoid residue which can form bacteria and lead to odors.
Household Odor

Apply white vinegar directly to odors. Vinegar helps remove strong smells like that of pet dander and must or mildew. Soak the items or dab vinegar with a towel on the affected area.

Spritz lemon juice or lemon essential oil. Lemon works great on fishy smells but can also work on most other household stenches. Spritz in the air, apply drops to a laundry load or clean appliances with lemon essential oil or juice.

Spritz the air with essential oils. Essential oils such as lemongrass, lime, mandarin, bergamot and grapefruit naturally remove stale and musty smells from entire rooms. Do not ingest or apply essential oils to the skin as it may cause infection or allergic reaction.
