Instructions

    • 1

Thread a curved needle the heavy duty thread that matches the color of your screening material. If you have a straight tear in the screen, sew the tear together. Sew right along the two torn edges without overlapping the two sides.

    • 2

Cut a piece of screening larger than your hole if your screen has a hole instead of a tear. Make the screening piece about 1 inch larger across in either direction than the hole.

    • 3

Fray all four edges of the patch slightly. Place the patch over the hole and push the frayed edges onto the screen to hold it in place.

    • 4

Sew around all four edges of the patch to hold the piece of screening in place. Pull the threads taut but don't make the screening pucker, for the most invisible repair job.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use epoxy that is rated for your type of screening material to glue the patch down if you don't want to sew it in place.
