DIY: Sachet

Sachets will make clothing smell fresh.

Sachets are used in closets and dressers to lightly scent your clothing, shoes, underwear and socks with the smell of dried flowers and essential oils. Although you can buy sachets from a home decorating or department store, you can try your hand at making your own sachet from materials that can be purchased from a fabric or craft supply store. Once finished, you can place your handmade sachets into your drawers or closets to freshen your clothing.

Things You'll Need

• Handkerchief
• Dried rose petals
• Dried lavender buds
• Lavender essential oil
• Ribbon

Instructions

1. Place a handkerchief flat onto a counter top.

2. Place about 4 tablespoons of dried rose petals and dried lavender buds into the center of the handkerchief.

3. Drop 4 to 5 drops of lavender essential oil onto the dried flowers.

4. Gather up the edges of the handkerchief to form a pouch.

5. Tie a 6-inch piece of satin ribbon around the pouch to secure it, and tie it into a bow.

6. Place the sachet into your drawer or closet.
