      Turn the gas valve on. Find the gas valve outside on the gas meter. It is in the "On" position if the locking holes don't line up in position.

      Open the front access panel on the fireplace. Turn the control knob to "Off" and wait five minutes for any gas to exit the lines.

      Turn the control knob to "Pilot" and push down. While pushing down on the control knob, press the red ignitor button. Continue to hold down the control knob for 30 seconds and then release.

      Turn the control knob to "On" and close the front access panel. Turn the fireplace switch to "On" to light the fireplace. Turn the fireplace switch "Off" when finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you detect gas fumes at any time, turn the fireplace off and leave the house immediately. Contact the local gas company or fire department. It is a good idea to install a carbon monoxide detector in any home with a gas appliance, as carbon monoxide is deadly but you cannot see, smell or taste it.
