How to Remove a Dog Urine Smell From a Carpet Naturally

Having a dog can require some home maintenance. Not all dogs behave perfectly all the time. For a variety of reasons, your furry friend might decide that it's a good idea to urinate on your carpet. If this happens to you, there's no need to panic. You might think that the only way to get rid of the urine smell is to use harsh chemicals that might damage your carpet, but you can get rid of the pungent odor naturally.

Things You'll Need

• Paper towels
• 1 tablespoon natural dish washing liquid
• 1 tablespoon white vinegar
• 2 cups warm water
• Container
• Cloth
• Cold rinse water
• Sponge

Instructions

1. Soak up as much of the dog urine as possible with paper towels. If the urine is already dry, move on to the next step.

2. Add one tablespoon of natural dish washing liquid to a container. The container should be large enough to hold a few cups of liquid.

3. Add one tablespoon of white vinegar to the container. Mix thoroughly.

4. Dilute the cleaning mixture with two cups of warm water. Mix thoroughly.

5. Dip a cloth into the cleaning mixture. Scrub the urine with the cleaning mixture until you no longer see the stain.

6. Use a large sponge and cold water to rinse and soak up the cleaning mixture from the carpet.

7. Use paper towels to soak up the rest of the moisture. Let the area air-dry the rest of the way.
