Use a homemade stamp to print on cellophane.

Use a homemade stamp, spray adhesive and acrylic paint to print on cellophane. Cellophane is a very thin, slick plastic that wrinkles with the slightest movement. The process of printing on cellophane is not as difficult as securing the cellophane to a surface to prevent wrinkles. Prepare the surface of the cellophane with spray adhesive prior to applying the spray paint. Complete the printing process in an area that is well ventilated. Use the stamp printing method to print on cellophane. Make a stamp of a jack-o-lantern and print on cellophane.

Step 2

Use small carving tools and cut out the area that is not wanted in the print design. This area is the negative space. Suggested areas to remove include the area around the outside of the jack-o-lantern, facial features and the lines separating the sections of the pumpkin.

Step 3

Lay the cellophane on a flat piece of newspaper. Use masking tape and secure the top edge to the newspaper. Remove all wrinkles from the cellophane. Tape the bottom edge to the newspaper surface.

Step 4

Cut a piece of cellophane 2 inches larger than the one to be printed. Center and lay the cellophane over the taped cellophane. Place the carved stamp in the desired printing location. Fold the cellophane around the stamp and pick it up, making sure the stamp does not move from the desired location. Use a marker and draw a 1/4-inch border line around the carved design.
