How to Change the Pop-Up Blocker on Your Mac thumbnail
Delete unnecessary programs from your computer.

Mac computers do not come with built-in Internet anti-virus software or pop-up blockers, however, there are dozens of third-party programs available that perform these actions online. If you are not satisfied with your current pop-up blocker, it is possible to delete the program from your Mac and install a different application onto the system. Best of all, most of the available pop-up blocker apps are free to use and download.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Finder" icon in your Mac's dock. Select "Mac HD" from the pull-up window, then choose "Applications." Scroll through and find the pop-up blocker you no longer want on the computer.

    • 2

Click-and-drag the selection down to the Trash icon. This will delete the application from the computer.

    • 3

Open your Internet browser and navigate to "CNET.com." Select "Downloads" and the Mac downloads will automatically appear on the screen (the website detects that you are using a Mac computer). Enter "Pop-Up Blocker" and all the available pop-up blockers on the site will appear. Click one of the available blockers and it will download directly to the computer.

Double-click the downloaded file, then select "Mac HD" as the installation location. The new pop-up blocker will install directly onto the computer.
