When you have mice in the home, it's crucial to figure out a way to get rid of them as quickly as possible. If you have peppermint Altoids on hand, you can forget the trip to your local pest control store, and instead use the peppermint Altoids as a natural mouse repellent.

The little rodents cannot stand the scent of peppermint, and will go nowhere near it, allowing these small candies to double as an inexpensive mouse repellent.

  1. Place a handful of peppermint Altoids into a sandwich bag, close the bag, and begin pounding the Altoids with a hammer or mallet to crush them down into powder form.

  2. Sprinkle the powder around areas where you have seen either mice or droppings.

  3. Fill a spray bottle with 2 tbsp. of the powdered peppermint Altoids, 2 cups hot water, and 1 tbsp. dish soap.

  4. Spray the solution around doorways, baseboards, and other areas where mice are present.
