Instructions

    • 1

Put your flowers in a vase with water and added flower preservative. Store in a cool place such as a refrigerator. This can be done as early as three days before the wedding. Fill a bouquet holder with a floral foam block. Place the bouquet holder upside down in a shallow bowl of water. If using silk flowers, skip the water immersion.

    • 2

Cut the ends of several ferns and gypsophila blossoms so the stems are about 6 inches long. Wrap the ends with floral tape. Stick stems in the holder along the outside. You can use other blossoms and filler leaves if you'd like. Choose blossoms that are fairly small and not overly busy so they won't take away from the beauty and simplicity of the calla lilies.

    • 3

Cut the stems of 12 (or more or less if you so choose) calla lilies to 3 inches long. Wrap the remaining 3-inch-long stems with floral tape. Cut 6 more calla lilies at various lengths such as 14 inches, 12 inches, 10 inches and 6 inches. Wrap the ends, leaving the cut end open, with floral tape. Poke the stems of all these flowers into the floral foam. Set all the cut-off stems aside for later use.

    • 4

Cut an ivy garland into 1-foot to 2-foot-long pieces. Arrange a few pieces of ivy on either side of the main calla lilies. If you're not a fan of ivy you can also use long pieces of baby's breath and arrange the stems on either side for a more "flowery" bouquet, as opposed to one with more greenery.

    • 5

Bend the leftover calla lily stems into half circles and poke both ends into the foam throughout the bouquet. Use the stems to balance out any bare spots and fill the bouquet in completely.

    • 6

Spray adhesive onto the handle of the bouquet holder. Wrap a satin ribbon all the way around the bouquet holder until it is completely covered. Glue on rhinestones for added sparkle. Tie a ribbon of a different color around the already wrapped stems and tie into a bow for additional decoration.
