Instructions

  1. Flower Barrette

    • 1

Select a silk flower. Pull the flower off the stem.

    • 2

Remove the plastic piece from the back of the flower and the center piece from the front. Discard the back and set aside the center piece.

    • 3

Apply a generous amount of glue to the top of a barrette with a hot glue gun. Place the flower in the center of the barrette and press it into the glue.

    • 4

Turn the center piece over and cut off the plastic stem with a pair of sharp scissors. Place hot glue on the bottom of the center piece and press it into the middle of the flower. Allow the glue to dry.

    Penny or Button Barrette

    • 5

Select three shiny pennies or several small buttons. Using a small paintbrush, paint the pennies or buttons with glitter glue, if desired.

    • 6

Apply hot glue to the top of the barrette with a hot glue gun.

    • 7

Place the pennies or buttons in a row on top of the barrette. Allow the glue to dry.

    Pom-pom Barrettes

    • 8

Select one large or several small pom-poms.

    • 9

Clip the barrette to a piece of wax paper.

    • 10

Place a small amount of hot glue to the back of each pom-pom. Place the pom-pom(s) on top of the barrette. Allow the glue to dry.

    Glitter Barrettes

    • 11

Select a barrette; wide barrettes work best.

    • 12

Paint the top of the barrette with a brightly-colored nail polish. Allow the nail polish to dry.

    • 13

Paint over the nail polish with glitter nail polish and allow it to dry.

    • 14

Apply two coats of clear nail polish to the top of the barrette and allow to dry completely before use.
