Homemade Air Freshener Spray
If you have a stinky room due to pets, kids or other underlying odors, you have probably purchased air freshener sprays. Nowadays, many people are straying from store-bought chemicals and mixing up batches of their own natural solutions. When making a homemade air freshener spray, one natural solution is to incorporate essential oils. Essential oils can be purchased from many aromatherapy suppliers and vary in price depending on the purity of the oil. Purchase essential oils or essential oil blends to make your own air freshener mist. Does this Spark an idea?

Fill a clean spray bottle with 1.5 oz. of distilled water.

Mix in 1.5 oz. of vodka and shake the bottle until the liquid is blended.

Add 30 to 40 drops of essential oil or oil blend to the mixture and shake the bottle.

Mist the solution lightly around the room. Shake the bottle well before each use.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of adding vodka, use 3 oz. of distilled water. Alcohol makes the scent more lasting.
Cats and dogs dislike citrus smells, produced by essential oils such as lemongrass.
Substitute fragrance oils for the more expensive essential oils.
Some essential oils can cause skin or eye irritation. Make sure you consult an essential oil guide before using a particular oil in a room freshening spray.
Avoid spraying essential oil room freshener on furniture or around food or beverages.
