How to Clean Carpets With OxiClean
OxiClean is an oxygen bleach that releases oxygen and natural cleaning elements, which when combined with water, create a safe, powerful cleaning action. OxiClean can be used on nearly any type of fabric, including carpet. While a vacuum cleaner will lift loose dust, a thorough cleaning with a steam cleaner and OxiClean solution will penetrate into the carpet, removing embedded residue and odor. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill your steam cleaner's liquid canister with OxiClean, laundry detergent and water. For each gallon of water used, add 1/2 cup oxygen bleach and 3 tsp. laundry detergent. Both powdered and liquid detergent will work equally as well in this instance so simply use whichever you have on hand.
-
2
Turn on the steam cleaner, and give it approximately five to 10 minutes to heat up. You should begin to see steam emitting from the cleaning unit.
-
-
3
Slowly move the steam cleaner over the carpeting, just as you would with a vacuum cleaner only in slow motion. Moving slowly allows more time for the cleaning solutions to penetrate the carpet.
-
4
Repeat as needed until all residue and stains have been lifted, pushing the steam cleaner forward then pulling it back to clean all angles of the carpet.
-
5
Allow the carpets to air dry, which will take approximately one to two hours depending on the room temperature.
