How to Self-Clean the General Electric Oven
When using a General Electric (GE) oven you are going to experience spills and smoke inside the cooking device. Eventually the splatter can corrode the oven, damage it and even prevent it from functioning properly. In order to prevent this from occurring you need to clean the oven. The GE oven has a self-clean function that essentially burns off everything stuck to the inside of the oven walls. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove all trays from inside of the oven in addition to any pots and pans you store inside. Take out thermometers because the heat from the self-clean will destroy the device.
-
2
Close the lid and turn the locking lever where the lid meets the top of the oven (if a lever is on your model of oven). This prevents the door from opening during the cleaning process.
-
-
3
Turn the oven knob on the General Electric oven to "Self-Clean." This begins the self-cleaning process.
-
4
Turn off the oven once the self-cleaning finishes (the light on the oven turns off).
