Vans are a very popular brand name of skateboarding and BMX shoe. Vans also sponsors many sporting events and concerts. Most of their shoes are made with fabric instead of leather. When you use these shoes to participate in sports and sometimes even just walking around, these shoes will get dirty, and just like any other clothing article, they need to be cleaned. Cleaning these types of shoes is easy.
Things You'll Need
- Baking soda
- Stain-removal spray
- Old toothbrush
- Dish detergent
- Laundry detergent
- Free-standing fan
Sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes and leave overnight. Pour out the baking soda in the morning.
Spray all stains with a stain-removal spray.
Let the spray sit for 10 minutes.
Scrub the stains with an old toothbrush.
Remove the shoelaces and hand wash them with mild dish detergent. Use 1 tsp. of detergent per 1 gallon of warm water. Submerge the shoelaces in the water and let them sit for 10 minutes and then rub the shoelaces between your thumb and first finger, rubbing in a circular motion.
Place the shoes in the washing machine with ½ capful of laundry detergent. Wash on the regular cycle with cold water.
Let the shoe laces and shoes dry on a flat surface. Set up a fan to dry them more quickly.
