How to Make Hair Bow Accessories
There are many types of hair accessories used to style hair. There are hair ties, headbands, pins and more. Hair bows are an easy way to dress up plain hair styles, and they are also easy to make. A barrette, strip of satin, and needle and thread can be used to make a hair bow accessory at home. Does this Spark an idea?

Cut 5 inches off of your 29-inch ribbon.

Take the larger piece of ribbon. Create the two loops of a bow without tying a knot in the center.

Place an open barrette onto the back of the bow at the center.

Thread a needle with a long piece of thread and tie a knot at one end of the thread.

Sew the barrette into the satin bow by weaving the needle and thread through the openings in the barrette and through the center front of the bow and then weaving back the other way.

Take the shorter piece of satin ribbon and fold it in half lengthwise.

Tie a simple knot in the 5-inch piece of satin.

Place the knot on top of the bow so the ends stick out the top and bottom of the bow.

Fold the ends of the 5-inch satin strip around to the back of the barrette. The barrette should be open as you do this, so the clasp is able to open and close when you are finished.

Use your needle and thread to sew the ends together.
