How to Pop Out a Dent in a Vehicle
A vehicle with small dents will not hold as much value as a dent-free car. These tiny dents detract from the aesthetics of the vehicle, even if they do not affect performance. They are typically the first thing potential buyers and others will notice. If you have been putting off repairing small dents on your car, there are simple, fast ways to pop them out with only basic tools. This process is used for dent removal on door panels, the hood and side panels. It takes only about 30 minutes.

1
Examine the dent, and determine where the mid-point of the dent is. This will be the deepest point of the dent, midway between the top and bottom of the undented area surrounding it.
-
2
Clean the dented area with an exterior car cleaner and sponge, then rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all the detergent.
-
-
3
Wet the bottom of the dent-puller's suction cup with water. Place it in the middle of the dent, the area you determined in Step 1.
-
4
Using a heat gun, apply a small amount of heat to the edges of the dent. Wait a few seconds, then pull the dent-puller to pop out the car's dent. Repeat this step as necessary to pull out all the dents.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have a dent-puller, apply a heat source to the dented area, then apply a cooling solution, such as liquid carbon dioxide, on the dent. The heat and cold will cause small dents to contract and pop out.
