How to Make Your Own Rhinestone Belt Buckle
Rhinestone belt buckles are sparkly, fun fashion statements. They are widely available in boutiques and online in a variety of different designs and colors. You can save money and make your own completely unique rhinestone belt buckle or re-create one that you saw. You can complete this project in about an hour or less, depending on how complex you'd like the design to be.
Things You'll Need
- Plain metal belt buckle
- Black permanent marker
- Fabric glue
- Straight pin
- Cotton swab
- Tweezers

1
Hold a plain metal belt buckle in your non-dominant hand and a black permanent marker in the other. Use the very tip of the marker to create tiny dots in the pattern you'd like for the rhinestones. You can make swirls, hearts, peace signs or even names. If you want to completely cover the belt buckle in rhinestones that are all the same color, you can skip this step.
-
2
Open a bag of rhinestones in the color/colors you'd like to appear on the belt buckle. Lay out the rhinestones flat with the jewel part facing upward. Make sure there are no piles or flipped-over rhinestones. Separate by individual colors or sizes.

3
Dip the head of a straight pin into some fabric glue, and put a dot of glue on the belt buckle where you want the rhinestone to go. Be careful not to use too much glue; the rhinestone should cover the glue completely. For larger rhinestones, use a cotton swab.
-
4
Grasp a single rhinestone using a pair of tweezers, and press it into the glue spot on the metal belt buckle. Hold for a few seconds before releasing. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until all of the space on the belt buckle is taken up or you have covered the design you created earlier.
-
5
Allow the fabric glue to dry completely before attaching the buckle to a belt.
