How to Clean Mold From Shoes
Use vinegar to kill mold on and inside of shoes. Not only will the vinegar effectively kill the mold, but it will absorb odors and brighten the look of the shoe. Vinegar is a natural cleaning product. Use a brush to remove the dead mold from the shoe. Shoes get moldy when left wet in dark, damp places. Putting the shoes in the washing machine during a hot cycle will kill the surface mold, but may not be able to kill mold in hard-to-reach places. Does this Spark an idea?

Pour vinegar into a bowl.

Dip the toothbrush in the vinegar to soak the bristles.

Scrub the mold with the vinegar.

Wipe the mold-free shoe off with a wet cloth or rag.

Use the toothbrush on the inside of the shoe. Pour a small amount of vinegar inside the shoe to allow it to soak in and kill mold underneath the cushion.

Let it air-dry in a dry area. The vinegar smell disappears as it dries.
