Liquid Repair for Cat Scratches on Leather
Liquid leather adhesives such as leather cement are products you may use for the cost-efficient repair of small leather tears. You can repair cat scratches on your leather furniture, clothing and other materials with these liquids as well. Things You'll Need
- Leather cement
- Putty knife
- Alcohol pad
- Mild soap and lukewarm water
- Sub-patch (optional)
- Leather-safe paint

Clean the scratched area of your leather with mild soap and lukewarm water. Scrub the scratch gently with a soft cloth. Allow the cleaned area to dry.

Wipe the scratched area with an alcohol pad.

Apply a sub-patch to areas in which your cat has scratched deep holes. Apply sub-patches to the underside of the permeated leather so that they cover the holes in their entirety.

Apply a thin layer of leather cement or desired adhesive to the scratched leather surface. Smooth the liquid over the scratch using a putty knife. Allow the area to dry completely.

Gently wipe the area with an alcohol pad or sandpaper to smooth over uneven areas of your desired liquid repair agent.

Apply color finish such as a leather-safe paint to the repair. Cover the repaired area completely so that it matches the rest of your leather material.
