Instructions

    • 1

Mix equal parts rubbing alcohol and water. Wipe your car using the alcohol mixture and a clean cloth. Make sure to remove all the dirt on the surface of your car. The rubbing alcohol mixture also removes any grease on your car's surface.

    • 2

Measure the area of your car that you want to cover with the vinyl.

    • 3

Using the measuring tape and a pencil, lightly draw on the vinyl the design that you have decided to use for your car wrap. Then cut out the design with a pair of scissors.

    • 4

Remove the backing of the vinyl. Do not remove the whole backing to prevent the vinyl from sticking to itself but remove the backing section by section. This will make it easier for you to stick the vinyl design on the car.

    • 5

Use a squeegee to smooth out any air bubbles created when sticking the vinyl to the car. Once the whole vinyl is laid on the car, run the squeegee through the whole car wrap while applying pressure.

    • 6

Cut out any excess vinyl with a a razor blade. Be careful not to scratch the car as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't stretch the vinyl.

  • Remove hardware such as wipers and mirrors to avoid having to cut around them precisely.

  • Heating the film works for corners, curves and indentations, but don't stretch the film hot. Let it cool off first and use a tape primer.
