Instructions

  1. Primary method

    • 1

Clean the surface. Prepare the surface by mixing one part alcohol with one part water. Dampen mixture onto a cloth and clean the surface of the boots. This mixture will clean any mildew or mold on the boots before repairing any scuff marks.

    • 2

Rub white vinegar onto the scuff mark with a lint-free cloth.

    • 3

Smear the scuff mark with olive oil and leave it until the oil has absorbed.

    • 4

Buff the boots. Using shoe polish or wax, buff the boots. Either Vaseline or straight linseed oil can also be used as a conditioning and shining agent.

    Other methods

    • 5

Rub a small amount of toothpaste directly onto the mark and lightly scrub. Then wipe off with a cloth.

    • 6

Apply nail polish remover onto the scuff. It works especially well for any ink-related stains.

    • 7

Spray aerosol hairspray onto tougher stains. Wipe away. Spray multiples times if it doesn't work on the first spray.
