How to Repair the Scuff on Women's Boots
Women's boots can be costly and are therefore important to maintain. Boots are typically made of patent leather, a typically harder leather, which can be tricky to clean compared to other leather fabrics. Shoes can be scuffed over time. Things You'll Need
- Alcohol
- Water
- Lint-free cloth
- White vinegar
- Olive oil
- Shoe polish or wax
- Linseed oil (optional)
- Vaseline (optional)
- Toothpaste
- Nail polish remover
- Hairspray

Clean the surface. Prepare the surface by mixing one part alcohol with one part water. Dampen mixture onto a cloth and clean the surface of the boots. This mixture will clean any mildew or mold on the boots before repairing any scuff marks.

Rub white vinegar onto the scuff mark with a lint-free cloth.

Smear the scuff mark with olive oil and leave it until the oil has absorbed.

Buff the boots. Using shoe polish or wax, buff the boots. Either Vaseline or straight linseed oil can also be used as a conditioning and shining agent.

Rub a small amount of toothpaste directly onto the mark and lightly scrub. Then wipe off with a cloth.

Apply nail polish remover onto the scuff. It works especially well for any ink-related stains.

Spray aerosol hairspray onto tougher stains. Wipe away. Spray multiples times if it doesn't work on the first spray.
