How to Use Borax in Carpet Cleaner
Borax, or boric acid, is a natural cleaning agent that has the ability to clean and deodorize, and also to kill dust mites and any other carpet insects. When using borax on the carpet, it is best to utilize as a dry agent and combine it with additional ingredients meant to further clean and remove contaminates from the carpet. Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 cup borax
- 1 cup cornmeal
- Vacuum cleaner
- Carpet rake

Combine the baking soda, borax, and cornmeal in a container and shake until mixed.

Vacuum and rake the carpet to remove anything on the surface.

Sprinkle the powder over the entire carpet area and rake it into the carpet for a deeper clean.

Slowly vacuum the entire carpet again to agitate the powder deep into the carpet, and remove it and any contaminates as well.
