Some colognes come in delicate scents, while others are strong and hard on the nose and other senses. Strong colognes can leave behind scents that are hard to get rid of and seem to hang in the air, on your skin and on your clothes. These strong scents can leave people who are sensitive to smells with headaches or even nausea. There are several ways to clean your skin, your clothes and the air of a strong cologne smell.

- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Olive oil
- Fabric freshener
Getting Rid of Cologne Smell in Air and Skin
Open windows if you are at home or in a car. Fresh clean air dissipates odors faster than air fresheners.
Rinse areas of the skin that have been applied with the cologne with cool water. Towel dry.
Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of warm water creating a paste. Apply the paste to the scented areas on your body and leave for five to 10 minutes. The paste absorbs the cologne scent. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and towel dry.
Mix three tablespoons of white vinegar and and two teaspoons of olive oil. Dip cotton balls into the mixture and apply to scented areas on the skin. Leave for five minutes then rinse with warm water. Bathe with regular bath soap.
Getting Rid of Cologne Smell on Clothes
Place scented clothes in a dryer for 10 to 15 minutes. Heat loosens the scent on the clothes.
Wash clothes in unscented laundry detergent and add one cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle.
Hang clothes outside to dry, which will helps rid the clothes of unwanted odors.
