How to Wax Mustache Area for Women

For most women, hair removal is an essential part of their beauty routine. For many, this includes the removal of hair on the upper lip, or the mustache. Waxing is a common method for removing hair.       Heat wax as directions indicate on waxing kit. Be sure not to heat wax too hot as it may burn your skin. The skin above the lip is sensitive so it very important to be cautious when waxing it yourself.

      Spread a small amount of wax on lip hair, spreading in the same direction of hair growth. Place fabric strip provided in waxing kit over wax.

      Pull skin taut and remove waxing strip quickly along the direction of hair growth. Repeat for other side and any place you may have missed.

      Wash lip gently with warm water to remove excess wax. Apply moisturizer to sooth lip.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take an ibuprofen two hours before waxing. This should easy swelling and calm redness.

  • Make sure hair is at least 1/4 of an inch.

  • Hot wax can be really hot. Be sure to handle carefully.
