How to Remove Tape From Concrete Floors

Concrete floors are simple to clean and are inexpensive to preserve. Stains are available to give the floors an exceptional appeal. Often carpets, area rugs or other floor decor are present. You usually attach these types of materials with strong adhesive tape. It is important to remove tape from concrete floors right away if the rugs or other items are moved. The tape can be an eyesore and a nuisance. If you have sticky residue, it can latch on to shoes, sock or paws and create a larger mess.

Things You'll Need:

• Heating pad
• Butter knife
• Eucalyptus oil
• Nylon brush
• Rag
• Laundry soap
• Hand towel

1. Plug the heating pad in and turn it on to "High." Place the pad on one end of the tape. Allow the tape to heat up for roughly 16 minutes, loosening the adhesive. Do not leave the hot pad unattended.

2. Remove the heating pad and turn it off. Place the flat end of the butter knife under the heading pad side of the tape. Lift gently. The end should be free enough to pull the tape off the rest of the way.

3. Spread eucalyptus oil over the tape residue that is on the concrete floor. Soak the residue, using your finger to smear the oil evenly over the residue. Let the oil sit for about seven minutes.

4. Scrub the sticky residue with a nylon brush. Scour over the length back and fourth, four times. This will release all or most of the remains.

5. Pour a dime-sized amount of laundry soap over the area. Removing the excess oil is important so slipping does not happen. Dampen the rag with hot water and scrub the laundry soap. Rinse the rag and wipe again to remove the remaining soap. Dry thoroughly with the hand towel.
