- Food processor or cheese grater
Instructions

-
1
Pour one cup of washing soda, one cup of Borax powder and ½ cup of Oxyclean into a large bowl. Mix the ingredients with a spoon until they are well blended.
-
2
Shred a bar of Fels-Naptha laundry soap. Place the shredding disk into a food processor to grate the soap. Grate the Fels-Naptha soap by hand using a hand grater if you do not have a food processor. It will not be shredded as fine as with the food processor but will work just as well. Simply combine the Fels-Naptha soap with the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl, and use in the washer. The water will dissolve the soap in the washing machine.

4
Place ½ cup of the dry mixture you mixed in the large bowl, and add it to the shredded soap in the food processor. Process the ingredients until they become the texture of sand.
-
5
Pour the ingredients from the food processor into the bowl with the remaining dry mixture. Mix all of the ingredients thoroughly.
-
6
Use 2 heaping tbsps. of the laundry detergent per full load of laundry. Put the laundry detergent into the washer while it is filling with water and before putting clothes inside. This will help the detergent to dissolve.

Tips & Warnings
You may not find all of these ingredients at one store. They will likely be in the laundry aisle if the store carries them. You may need to try a couple of different grocery stores before you find which ones carry specific ingredients.
Most food processor blades and containers are dishwasher safe. Put the items in the dishwasher to thoroughly clean the soap from the food processor parts.
