Your dog jumps on you and the paint you're using on the shed goes everywhere, including all over your favorite pair of sunglasses. Before you toss them in the garbage, you can try to remove the paint and save yourself the time and money needed to replace them.
Things You'll Need
- Large bowl
- Warm water
- Liquid dish soap
- 2 clean cotton rags
- New razor blade
Fill a bowl with warm water. Add 5 tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Stir.
Dip a clean rag in the solution and apply it to the paint on the lenses.
Gently apply pressure with a razor to scrape the painted area. If the paint does not come off immediately, reapply warm dish soap solution and repeat until all of paint is removed.
Dip your rag in the solution one last time to wash the lenses.
Dry lenses with a dry cotton rag.
Tips & Warnings
- Never use an old razor for this procedure. Rust or chips in the razor blade will result in scratches on your sunglasses' lenses.
- Children should never be allowed to use a razor. If you ingest paint chips or the dish soap solution, call your doctor or local poison control center immediately.
