Baked bread stuffing balls make a great replacement for traditional, often boring, holiday stuffing. Here is a simple recipe that you and your family will enjoy.

Note: Start your preparation in the morning if these will be getting used for dinner. This saves you time and also allows the flavors to really show through.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 Cups of Bread Crumbs - packed firmly (Store bought or your own day old bread)
  • 2 Tbsp. Onion - Minced
  • 1 Cup Celery - Minced
  • 1/2 Cup Parsley (optional)
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp. Pepper
  • 1 Tsp. Poultry Seasoning
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 2 Egg Whites
  • 2 Bouillon cubes (Beef)
  1. Step 1

Mix together the Pepper, Onion, Celery, Poultry Seasoning, Parsley, Salt and bread crumbs.

  2. Step 2

In a saucepan, over medium heat, heat together the water, butter and 2 bouillon cubes until heated and the cubes dissolve. Remove from heat.

  3. Step 3

Toss together the bread stuffing mixture and the bouillon mixture until breadcrumbs are coated.

  4. Step 4

In a small separate bowl beat your egg whites until they become foamy, then toss these together with the breadcrumbs as well.

  5. Step 5

Using your hands begin shaping the Holiday stuffing into balls. If you have trouble getting the mixture to stick together add a dash of water to bring it to the right consistency. (Balls should be approximately 2.5")

  6. Step 6

Grease a baking sheet and place the balls onto the baking sheet.

  7. Step 7

Refrigerate until approximately 1 hour before you would like to serve them, for best results.

  8. Step 8

When ready to cook: place the stuffing balls into a 325* F oven for 1 hour or until browned.
