Mildew and mildew odor are common problems in many households. White vinegar is among the most effective mildew removers, and does not contain any of the harsh chemical compounds that are so common in commercial household cleansers.

- Spray bottle
- White vinegar
Fill spray bottle with equal parts water and white vinegar
Spray the solution on the walls and floor and other surfaces in the rooms where you smell the mildew odor, being careful to avoid furniture or textiles.
For areas with visible mildew growth soak the sponge in the vinegar solution and use it to wipe down the soiled surfaces.
