How good your meat tastes after it is grilled is almost entirely dependent on your choice of marinade. Some of my favorites are oriental marinade, Italian marinade, and steak marinade. The following are the recipes for these.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soy sauce
  • cooking oil
  • Sherry and pineapple juice
  • Brown sugar
  • fresh grated ginger
  • Wine vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Onion, Garlic, Salt, Pepper, oregano, thyme, rosemary, and whole peppercorns
  1. Step 1

Don't become afraid by the length of the ingredients list. You will not need all of theses at the same time to make one marinade, and the good thing is that you probably already have most of these ingredients in your pantry so you won't have to spend a fortune to start making your own delicious marinades. O.K. enough let's get started. For the oriental marinade you will need 1/3 cup cooking oil. 1/3 cup soy sauce and 1/3 cup of sherry or pineapple juice, dash of lemon juice, three tablespoons brown sugar and a 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger. put all ingredients in a large plastic zip lock and place your meat inside shake it up and let sit inside your refrigerator for at least six hours overnight is better. Remove the meat from your bag and grill on a hot bbq to your liking. These instructions for marinading are for all marinades so I will just give you the ingredients for the other two marinades and the bagging and mixing and letting it sit are always the same.

  2. Step 2

Italian Marinade- 3/4 cup of wine vinegar, 3/4 cup of Olive oil, 3/4 cup of finely chopped onion, one finely chopped garlic clove, one teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon salt and a heavy pinch of black pepper.

  3. Step 3

Steak marinade- one cup wine vinegar or cider vinegar, 1/2 cup of cooking oil, 1/2 cup of sliced yellow onion, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 garlic cloves crushed, 6 whole peppercorns, pinch of thyme and a pinch of rosemary. mix all ingredients and your ready to go.

Tips & Warnings
  • All these recipes can be used for most meats cooked on the grill. you will get about one and a third cups of marinade from each recipe, which is good for marinating about 5 pounds of meat. You can use leftover marinade to baste your meat as it is cooking. If you enjoy these marinades please leave a comment and a rating. thanks.
