Honey mustard is a popular sauce for dipping or coating chicken wings. You can change up this honey mustard recipe by substituting brown or spicy mustard, or by adding spices for a hot mustard or brown sugar for a sweeter taste. Honey mustard complements chicken well, especially if it has breading. Preparation takes about five minutes. If you are in a hurry, put the sauce in the freezer for 20 minutes instead of refrigerating. The sauce should have a yellow color to it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of yellow mustard
  • Bowl
  • Spoons
  • Cooked chicken wings
  • Container with lid
  • Chicken wings

    Make honey mustard

  1. Step 1

Put the mayonnaise and honey in a bowl. Mix well.

  2. Step 2

Add the mustard slowly. Mustard has a strong flavor, so have a clean spoon set aside for tasting in stages after adding small portions of mustard.

  3. Step 3

Refrigerate the honey mustard for at least an hour.

  4. Coat the wings

  5. Step 1

If you want to coat chicken wings with honey mustard, put the cooked wings inside a plastic container with a lid.

  6. Step 2

Pour the sauce over the wings. The sauce should cover the wings but not soak them.

  7. Step 3

Shake the container until the wings are completely coated. Serve immediately. Wings get soggy if left coated in sauce for too long.
