With this recipe all the parts of the chicken can be used and since chicken is relatively inexpensive you won't spend a fortune on this meal. The following are step by step instructions for Chinese boiled chicken.
Things You'll Need
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 inches of ginger
- 6 onions
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 bulb of garlic
- 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 1/3 cup peanut oil
- soy sauce
Place the chicken in a large pot and cover it with water. Add 2 teaspoons of sesame oil. Peel the ginger and throw the peelings in the pot. Chop the rest of the ginger and set it aside.
Peel 4 cloves of garlic and toss the garlic skin in the pot. Chop up the garlic and set it aside. Then, chop the onions and save 2 tablespoons of chopped onions for later. Place the remaining chopped onions in the pot.
Bring the chicken to a boil. After that, simmer it for 10 minutes. Turn off the stove and let the chicken stand in the pot for one hour.
Remove the chicken from the pot and allow it to cool. Cut the chicken into 8 pieces and place it on a serving plate.
Sauté the peanut oil, the chopped garlic, and the chopped ginger in a frying pan. Let the oil continue to infuse on medium heat for about 2 to 5 minutes. Then, pour it over the chicken. Finally, pour the soy sauce on the chicken and garnish it with the 2 tablespoons of chopped onions.
