If you're someone who loves autumn as much as I do you may want to celebrate the month of October. October holidays include: Columbus Day, National Boss Day, National Children's Day, Thanksgiving Day in Canada, Sweetest Day, and everyone's favorite dress up in costume day, Halloween. There's much to celebrate about October. Celebrating this beautiful month of harvest and Halloween will provide years of great memories.

Celebrate October by eating the seasonal foods of October. These include apples, pears, figs, squashes, nuts and pumpkins. Don't forget to include a taste of our favorite October treats: caramel apples, apple cider donuts, pumpkin, apple and squash pies, and candy corn.

Decorate your home with colored autumn leaves and rich autumn colors. Deep greens, burnt oranges, and various shades of red bring October into your living space.

Decorate your house with vintage Halloween including witches, jack o' lanterns, spider webs, black cats, skeletons and other Halloween collectibles. If you own a Halloween village bring the first piece out on October 1st and add pieces every night until your Halloween village is complete on Halloween night.

Drink a warm mug of apple cider after a day of viewing local foliage.

  5. Step 5
