How to Make a No-Yeast Garlic and Herb Pizza Dough

Save

If you want to make pizza but don't want to wait for the dough to rise, make a no-yeast pie. Dough made without yeast tastes a bit bland, but adding dried garlic and herbs gives your crust a wonderful flavor.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing the dough)
  • Heat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Place all of the ingredients except for the olive oil into a bowl. Mix thoroughly until the dough no longer sticks to the bowl.

  • Roll the dough into a ball. Knead the dough in the bowl about 10 times. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a circle.

  • Place the dough on a pizza pan or stone. Turn up the dough edges about ½ inch and pinch them.

  • Brush the dough with olive oil.

  • Put pizza sauce and toppings on the dough. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
