How to Make Chicken Casserole With Ritz Cracker Topping
Ritz Crackers aren't just for snacking anymore. Nabisco introduced the Ritz Cracker in 1934 Use the buttery tasting crackers as a topping for a chicken casserole. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Large mixing bowl
- 1 whole chicken
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 1 large or 2 small cans of cream of chicken
- 9x13 inch baking dish
- 1 to 2 sleeves of Ritz crackers based on desired topping amount

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Boil chicken until it turns white, making sure the inside of it is thoroughly cooked. Shred or cut chicken into bite size pieces.

Mix together cream of chicken and sour cream In a large bowl until thoroughly mixed. Mix ingredients until you can longer see the white of the sour cream.

Add chicken pieces to your cream of chicken and sour cream mixture. Pour into backing dish and spread evenly.

Crumble Ritz Crackers in a large zip lock bag -- or just crumble by hand -- and spread over the top of casserole.

Cook for 25 to 35 minutes or until the Ritz Crackers are brown. Let stand for five minutes to thicken after removing from oven. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serves 6 to 8
Two to three packs of chicken tenders can be used instead of a whole chicken
