Step 1
Cut an 8 x 8 piece of cloth made from natural fibers such as cotton or linen. These fibers breathe better and will allow the scent from the herb to circulate freely. Choose a fabric pattern that blends well with your bedroom decor.
-
Step 2
Fold the cloth in half with the wrong side of the fabric facing outside.
-
Step 3
Stitch two sides of the fabric together.
-
Step 4
Turn the pillow through the open side, so the right side of the fabric is now facing out.
-
Step 5
Dried HerbsPut half cup of dried herb into the pillow. Some great herbs for making sleep pillows include: chamomile, lavender, rose, rosemary, and echinacea.
-
Step 6
Slip stitchWith the raw edge turned in, slip stitch the open side closed.
-
Step 7
As you sleep, enjoy the aroma of your herbal pillow.

on 8/22/2009 My teens have trouble with sleep. Your article on making a herbal sleep pillow is a great idea. I'll give it a try. I really don't want them on any medication at such a young age. 5*
