How to Make delicious Channa Dal
Channa dal also known as bengal gram is a special lentil that can be found on any Indian store. Channa dal is inexpensive, easy to make and very delicious.
It is considered food for poor people, however if cooked properly it surpasses any meat item. Special love and care if need to cook this dish.
All the ingredients can be bought from a local store with the exception of channa dal which can be found in any Indian store.
Enjoy with rice or naan bread.

Things You'll Need
- Channa Dal- 2 cups
- Onions- 1 large
- Garlic, Ginger- 1 tea spoon
- Red chilly, salt, turmeric- 1/2 spoon.
- Tomatoes paste- 6oz
- Cilantro- few leaves
- Tomatoes- One cut in to small pieces.

Wash the channa dal thoroughly and cook in a the boiling water for at least half an hour. You can also cook in the pressure cooker for two whistles. Make sure dal is cooked thoroughly but not mushed.

In a separate pan, fry onions until brown and add garlic, ginger, red chillies, salt, turmeric and a small can of tomatoes paste. Add little bit of water to avoid burning.

Now simply add cooked channa dal, 1 and half cup of water and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes. Garnish with cilantro and tomatoes. Eat with naan and yogurt.
