Cook Asparagus in The Microwave
Cook Asparagus in The Microwave

Asparagus is a great summer side dish and it is very easy to prepare.

Asparagus can prevent many diseases including birth defects.

With this simple guide, you will have ready to eat asparagus in about 5 minutes!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Asparagus
  • 2 Microwave-safe plates
  • Water
  1. Step 1

Cut or break off the ends of the asparagus because they can be dry and fibrous. Leave the pointed ends intact.

  2. Step 2

Lay the asparagus in a single layer on a plate.

  3. Step 3

Pour water into the plate. Make sure you do not spill!

  4. Step 4

Cover the asparagus with another plate that is turned upside down to create a lid.

  5. Step 5

Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes. Poke an asparagus stem with a fork to see if it is done. It will probably be very firm still.

  6. Step 6

Cook for another 2-4 minutes until it has softened a bit. Some people like it crunchier than others.

  7. Step 7

Serve hot. Asparagus tastes great plain, but also pairs well with many sauces.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use plastic wrap to cover your asparagus, but I prefer not to as the plastic releases toxic chemicals into your food.
